As most of you know, I am a sucker for gold accessories. I find accessories to be the hidden secrete to any outfit. The smallest ring, necklace, earring, or belt can change a look completely.
Here are a few styling tricks that I have learned throughout the years to elevate my outfits to look chic all the time.
1. Simple T-shirt
a. I will always layer cute necklaces when wearing a basic tee. I love to wear a gold choker and then layer that with a long chain to make my outfit look put together. Since a t-shirt is super basic, you can really elevate the jewelry. I would put on a few cute rings and gold hoop earrings as this can take a t-shirt with jeans, a skirt, or even sweatpants as the bottom to an eye-catching look.
2. Blazers
a. Blazers already are such a statement. When wearing a blazer, I tend to minimalize my accessories as the blazer alone is a stand-out piece. Regardless of the blazer is solid or a pattern, I usually just go for a bold gold earring. I prefer a gold hoop or a drop earring, as it makes the outfit looks so chic and gives an edgy street-style vibe. Depending on the shirt you are wearing under the blazer, if it is low cute you can add a chain to create a more covered effect, however, I personally would stick with the earrings as my main statement piece.
3. Sweatshirts
a. Given sweatpants are our new uniforms this past year (haha), this has been my new favorite outfits to style and elevate so I don't look like I just rolled out of bed haha. Similar to t-shirts you can really over-accessorize. Adding cute rings, with gold hoops, layered necklaces, and a slick back hair bun will take your sweatpants to an urban street style look right away.
4. Dresses/Skirts
a. When wearing a dress/skirt, wearing less jewelry is the key. Depending on the dress or skirt, I usually keep 1 or 2 rings on and will trade between putting on a necklace or earrings. Adding too much to an already dressy look can cheapen your outfit. I personally recommend choosing a few pieces to add so that your outfit maintenance and high-end sophisticated look.
Overall, accessorize the way that makes you feel the most comfortable and confident. Adding little touches of you to an outfit can really make you stand out and elevate your style. These tips have really worked for me and helped me be more put together especially if I am in a hurry. The littlest detail can help make it appear like you added thought to your outfit even if you just tossed on sweatpants and a hoodie.
